Our journey is a pathway to success. It carefully builds upon early stages, to support the child’s natural dispositions and curiosities. It is a journey for every family, as their child cultivates their social and emotional wellbeing, and their physical and language development. When combined, these strengthen each child’s academic growth as they move into formal education.
In an EYFS classroom, a teacher leads children of similar ages in a series of activities with conversation, active engagement and intentional teaching to make learning fun and relevant. They employ integrated teaching and learning, which comprise child and adult-led learning with guided play in different contexts and environments. Through play and other opportunities, we encourage children to make sense of their world.
Following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum, the Montessori teaching method is offered at our schools. Our Montessori classes are vertically streamed, with children aged between 2 years 6 months through 6 years of age. Children learn from each other and are given support for independent self-directed activity. Our Montessori curriculum based classrooms provide a range of materials that are organised and made available for free and independent use, while teachers maintain the class structure and direct every child towards their best learning opportunities.
Each of our classrooms are carefully equipped with Montessori materials, specifically designed to stimulate curiosity, provide ordered and sequential learning, and ensure that each child experiences the pride and pleasure of completing tasks successfully. Our Montessori teachers, in addition to having Early Childhood Education, are all trained in the use of these materials designed to stimulate discovery while developing the skills necessary for accomplishing tasks.
